Have u been watching rugby the last six years? there are 2 maybe 3 english players that would make the Irish team.

Don't you just know if england were playing wales to win the grand slam that this would be a mega thread, but cos it's us Irish, it's tumbleweed town

Anyway, what's peoples thoughts to the final weekend?
      Ireland to do it?
Or Wales to get the win with the points margin needed to take championship?
Also, what do people make of Wales coach giving it the "Wales dislike Ireland most of all the teams". Will that type of mind stuff have a bearing?

Think Gatland has shot himself in the foot with his comments,

The Irish team did not need any extra motivation but Gatland just gave it to them similar to the Rooney comments before the scum game

Think Ireland will win, but it is will be a very tight game, dont think there is any chance of Wales opening a 13 point margin against us.

        Come on Ireland !!!!!!!!!!!

I think that Wales will just beat the Irish with the game being played in the Millennium Stadium and all. I think that both teams are pretty evenly matched and both have pretty good defence.

I'm going for us Welsh to win by 3-5 points, which of course hands Ireland the championship.

Ireland skipper Brian O'Driscoll has thrown down the gauntlet to Wales ahead of Saturday's Six Nations decider.

O'Driscoll was responding to Wales boss Warren Gatland's jibe about his players disliking their Irish Six Nations rivals more than any other.

"I'm sure they [Wales] can show their dislike on the pitch tomorrow and we'll show them the respect they deserve."

Since his original comment, Gatland had attempted to defuse any ill-feeling saying: "I meant it as a compliment."

On Tuesday Gatland said: "Probably, out of all the teams in the Six Nations, the Welsh players dislike the Irish the most."

Gatland has since told The Irish Times: "I knew when I said it that it was going to get headlines. It got more of a reaction than I wanted."

The Wales coach added: "People have reacted rather than just take it with a grain of salt and as a back-handed compliment.

                606: DEBATE
What are your views on Wales v Ireland?
"The Welsh players have had some defeats by Munster and Leinster over the last few years and also some heavy defeats by Ireland.

"They've had a few verbals and sometimes you can't say anything, you've got to take it and wait for your opportunity.

"Yes, of course, they want to beat England as well. Everybody wants to beat England, but when you're playing sides on a more regular basis, that's what builds up the rivalry.

"It's not that they dislike them as individuals, it's just that they're a bit more passionate about wanting to beat the Irish at the moment.

"If you go back over history there were often times when Wales had the edge in this fixture, but what I was saying was in recognition of what the Irish provinces have achieved in recent years and what Ireland have achieved in the last decade or so."

Asking if he believed Gatland's earlier comments were an attempt at winding up Ireland, O'Driscoll replied: "Absolutely no idea - you'd have to ask him that.

"It's a long time since I've been coached by Warren and he's his own man. That's a question you'd have to ask him."

Lets hope not. Would love to get the win and get the grand slam. George hook made point it wouldn't feel as victorious to lose the game and get the championship, think he's right.

Think you're right, would love us to open up and play a blinder, but it's likely to be as you say.

Hope so, surely it's our time, shocking with the team we've had over last few years that we haven't managed to do it. I think we will this time, destiny and all that

Absolutely brilliant. Thought they had thrown it away at the end. What an emotional rollercoaster. O'Driscoll and O'Connell were immense.

What a result Grand Slam , Six nations and Triple Crown all in one day and O'Driscoll was a legend again, player of the Six nations by a mile

Wales played well and I thought we had blown at the end, heart was in mouth, but what a result, 61 years since last Grand Slam.

Well done to Declan Kidney what a manager Six Nations Champions at first try what a day to be Irish.

                                Excellent result for Ireland

Those two kicks at the end were brilliant. I'm glad that Ireland got the last kick in, and won the Grand Slam though, it would have been bittersweet for them to win, but not the Grand Slam, and Wales wouldn't have gained anything.

If it was Wales vs England however
