    Ski Flying

    in Planica's on this weekend, might be worth a peek, the weather forecast doesn't look great, so probably less of the uphill wind as on a sunny day, but the Monster is well prepared, and jumps to 250m are said to be safe.

    It's not really flying though. It's simply falling with style.

    Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

            Well, I couldn't. That's the point. Calling it 'falling with style' doesn't belittle it IMO.

            I saw some summer practice at Courchevel once. It was bonkers.
