i think that is where i need to start then - I never have breakfast - esp mon-fri - should start the day off properly really - but take today as typical example - it's 12:30 and I have had two coffees, a cup of tea, about half a pint of water and noting else
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

as for the diet, they always say breakfast is a must every day, kick starts yr metabolism....the problem is you can read that many things you dont know which way to turn!!
If you want to add a twist to your push ups do some making a diamond shape with your hands. Works your arms a different way.

Nicey, seriously mate, get off that ****ing Atkins ****e. All that will happen is you'll put the weight straight back on! I promise you. Its totally unnecessary. You're not massively overweight are you? Just wanna get in shape?

Obviously I'm not saying it DOESN'T work, because you're basically depriving your body of various nutrients it needs; therefore, in order to gain energy your body will burn fat. What it will also do though, is realise that its burning fat and start to store it because its needed

ESPECIALLY because you're training. Cannot stress enough. You physically cant train properly without carbs, and you're starving your body of them.

I cannot stresss to you mate that an atkins friendly lifestyle is the most healthy eating plan you can give yourself and its proven my countless colleges including the royal college of surgeons

        I was 90 KG I'm aiming for 85 .. which I am guessing I probably hit ..

Mate I work out a lot I know what I am doing .. the Induction coarse is a good way to cut weight .. after that I go back to reasonably normal diet ..

Most important thing is to excersie nearly every day which I do .. but occasionally you can take your eye off the ball and the pounds creep in

Well, we're gonna have to agree to disagree mate! I agree with the Atkins diet in lots of ways, but I think to follow it solely as it requires you to do so is not healthy. Or rather, is not as efficient as a balanced diet

All my posts above basically confirm what the Atkins diet suggests; ie no processed foods, reduced sugars etc. But by taking carbohydrates out - and I mean complex carbs, not white bread/rice/pasta - then you are starving your body of nutrients that are proven to be necessary for a healthy lifestyle. I dont disagree with Atkins fully, I just think that one shouldn't follow it to the letter.

Fibre, for example, is a hugely important factor that is cut out when it shouldn't be. There is no real argument for removing wholemeal fibre rich foods. They are essential for digestion which in turn aids what the Atkins diet seeks to achieve

You mentioned the induction only, take it you wont be following the other parts? Why not take what the Atkins diet does well, ie weight loss, and apply that along with healthy eating practices?

I guess i'm not really disagreeing with you. You WILL, and you personally have lost weight, of that there is no doubt. But whether someone who follows the diet will sustain that weight is more my point

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Actually we are on the same page .. I balance it out after the induction phase .. the main thing is the complex carbs which we all nash on which all dietitians agree do must of the damage in the long run ...

Heres an interesting health titbit I read today ... one of the most important things you can do if you want to live longer ..is ... wait for it ....................Floss ... apparently all the bacteria which fester in the old gob later on in life get into the blood stream and cause all sorts of problems

That is an interesting little morsel (get it?!)

I dont floss anywhere near as much as I should, maybe I will from now

                      Nice one

I started on Monday so this is day 4 for me. I could murder a Milkybar right now, or a toffee crisp...or a beer.

I started this yesterday Nicey, better be worth it!

Breakfast is easy, scrambled eggs and a slice of bacon.
Lunch, tin of tuna, green salad and an egg.
                        Dinner, meat/fish, green salad.

What I'm struggling with is snacks as there is not enough there to keep me going.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

                            You're all massive homs!

Seriously I’m concerned with the number of lads my age who seem to be on health kicks. All doing lots of exercise (press ups FFS), eating healthily, shunning tea and coffee. I’ll be having a heart attack before I'm 40 at this rate.

A can of coke every day, bacon & egg butties two or three times a week, big sandwiches on white bread every day, about five pizzas a week, no exercise. I’m naturally a thin lad, 6’1 but I weigh nearly 14 stone.

Am I going to die before I hit 40?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
