Does it really encourage you to continue eating sausages, bacon and cheese for example as part of your staple diet or are you advised to eat lean protein in the form of white meat and fish?

I'm still of the opinion that a low carb diet is fine, just take a look at the Eskimo diet. Almost pure fat and they have next to zero heart disease. The problem in the West is that we eat too much and eat everything, we don't balance the food intake.

The combination of poor carbs, red meat, saturated fat and salt and no exercise is the issue, but I still wouldn't be comfortable living with a diet that regularly consisted of sausages and bacon.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

The weekend was really a struggle but I'm into my second week now and practically skipping around everywhere. I feel brighter, slimmer, my skin looks better somehow and my balls look impressively large. I've combined it with cycling/swimming/jogging which has obviously helped massively as well

All in moderation though mate. Red meat once for example, is fine once or twice a week because it has essential nutrients that you can't source elsewhere.

well i get paid thursday, but it's Bank Holiday weekend so lets be realistic - i am going to drink! - i am going to start my two weeks of hell on the Monday

I'm not doing a strict atkins or any other type of diet or way of life - i am just basically going to be healthier for two weeks and see how it goes, how i feel, how i cope and what improvements there are.

scrambled or poached eggs on brown toast or a healthy cereal for breakfast

                  salads for lunch

either meat or fish with veg/salads/stir fry and then say brown rice or a small jacket potato for tea

Fruit or museli type cereal bars for snacks inbetween meals

2 litres of water a day

                  and NO ALCOHOL!!!

I Know if i can change my diet to that for a couple of weeks and stick it i will see results.

                      You will, honestly

If you could combine that with the 100 pushups thing, you'd be laughing

Only thing I'd say about your change in eating, would be to start big and finish small. So scrambled eggs (with fresh chilli and chives is ****ing ace!) on wholemeal toast for brekkie, but then swap your lunch and dinners round. Ie the larger carb heavier lunch and lighter dinner. Dont eat after 9pm

If you can, sweet potato is excellent. Although dont be scared of eating potatoes, not all carbs are bad for you!

Not TOO much fruit for snacks, and cereal bars I wouldnt bother with either (why not have the cereal itself?)
Cottage cheese on toast I always find good

As someone else said, if you can also restrict the AMOUNT you have in a single meal, but then spread them out, thats a better way of eating. So you eat a normal lunch but just dont eat until you physically cant eat anything else. Portion control is important if you wanna balance your intake throughout the day
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

yeah nice one mate - see the reason i mention fruit and cereal bars etc is my main concern is inbetween meals - i am a cereal(wait i mean serial) snacker.

that period between brekkie and lunch and then lunch and tea is what worries me! - that and giving up alcohol!

THough i am looking forward to getting paid and going on my 'healthy' food shop

                                Nooooooo

I even checked for white text, nothing.

Yes, I do like granny smith apples. Now, whats the punchline?!

Hmm, you might not feel the same when it comes to the checkout! Annoying that healthy eating is also expensive eating!

I know exactly what you mean about being hungry, however you may well find that eating what you will be doing means that you wont be hungry in between meals? Foods such as wholemeal bread/pasta/rice are digested slower meaning that you dont feel hungry as quickly. On the flipside, high sugar foods or high cal carbs are broken down much quicker, meaning that you crave food more. Specifically, you'll crave sugars as your energy levels aren't sustained

Hmm, the 100 push up challenge hasn't been mentioned for a while, maybe a bored mod should seperate all this boring healthy bollocks from the true nature of the thread?!
