F1 will to be more competetive 2010

Because Ferrari have thrown their rattle out the pram, taken their ball and stomped all the way home.

    Sky News Ferrari leave f1

Good riddance! If you ask me they have had far too much influence over the sport in recent years.
Just because the new rules promote a more even playing field and the fact that they can't spend their way to a championship they have quit

But then let’s wait and see how far Mosley and Eccleston bend over when they find out how many bums on seats they'll lose if Ferrari do quit.
I see a special dispensation or complete throw out of the new rules on the horizon.

They say it's going to result in a two tier championship. How is that any different to anything that has gone on before?

I'm with Ferrari on this. The idea of having different rules applying to different team is a complete joke and would ruin the sport. Equivalent to rules saying that the top 4 in the PL can only shoot from outside the box. This coming so soon after the proposal to have standard engines for all teams The FIA have lost the plot completely and if I were Ferrari I'd use this as a perfect reason to pull out of F1 for a few years and save some cash. When the FIA and F1 want a real competition again, they can rejoin.

It's a bloody ridiculous argument. Ferrari and Renault want to be able to throw as much cash as possible at winning and have as big an advantage as possible but don't want it to be acknowledged as unfair. The FIA have constructed the most ludicrous proposal ever - let's make it fairer by introducing a de facto to league system but have everyone competing on the same track at the same time. To be fair it makes the whole circus look more of a joke than it did already.

How about a point scaling system whereby those teams that stay within the 40m budget start with a large points advantage. Then the big boys can spend more but would incur larger points penalties by doing so.... just a thought.

                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
