Thanjk you.

The best exposure you can get is on prime time tv on HBO (or similar) and topping the bill in Vegas or NY. Not on the HBO website Kurt. The average boxing punter - and man in the street knows boxers from off the telly - not off web sites. Nice try though Kurt.
Toppin' the bill in the MEN and Millenium Stadium doesn't quite have the aura and history of Madison Square Garden; or even the Mandalay Bay for that matter. A fighter of Calzaghe's ability and standing in the world deserves to fight at hallowed venues such as these yet unfortunately Joe doesn't have the inclination (or the will) sample nights such as those.
Ahh well his loss. He'll be remembered for it.
I'm not sure you read the site properly, Les! The Calzaghe fight is topping the bill on HBO after dark Tomorrow night which is the most watched boxing show in the states!
Now in its tenth season, HBO's hit late-night boxing series heads overseas for HBO BOXING AFTER DARK: JOE CALZAGHE VS. SAKIO BIKA, to be seen SATURDAY, OCT. 14 at 11:00 PM (ET/PT) from the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, England on HBO. The BOXING AFTER DARK team will be ringside for the event, which will be presented in Spanish language on HBO Latino.
HBO2 playdates: Oct. 15 (10:00 AM, 4:45 PM) and 17 (11:00 PM). Times are ET/PT.
In his first HBO appearance, undefeated super middleweight title holder Joe Calzaghe (41-0, 31 KOs) from Newbridge, Wales takes on Sakio Bika (20-1-2, 13 KOs) from Sydney, Australia in a scheduled 12-round bout. Calzaghe, who has been electrifying sold-out arenas in England, is coming off a dominating victory over previously undefeated champ Jeff Lacy and is seeking to further extend his domination in the division. Bika, whose previous title fight ended in a technical draw, due to a cut from an accidental head butt, looks to establish himself as the division champ. He's traveling half the globe to challenge Calzaghe on his home turf.
That's exposure in the U.S.A if you ask me!
As I said before, why go to the states if they'll come to him? They're obviously impressed with him because there's a few other fights they could ave shown on Saturday.
This whole thing about Vegas and NY being the Meccas of boxing is bull****. The crowds in Vegas are no bigger than Hatton or Calzaghe bring in at home, and in Germany they get ****ing ridiculous gates. Calzaghe-Kessler (assuming he wins) will obviously be better over here - they'll get a huge European crowd (where the big money is for the fighters) and HBO will still carry the fight.

You're right - I didn't read it.
Anyway - the way I feel at the moment after that pile of ****e today - I'd give calzaghe a good fight meself !!!!
Question: If Calzaghe lost tonight and then retired with hand injuries - do you think he'd look back and think he'd acheived all he could have?
