Bob Woolmer would have been proud of them today. Should have won it 2 years ago but it was not to be.
Absolutely made up for guys like Afridi, Misbah, Younis Khan and most of all the people of Pakistan who have been starved of international cricket because of the actions of a crazy minority of extremists.
A great day for Pakistani cricket - still alive and kicking!!!

That was brilliant. Im so pleased for those guys. Nobody gave them a chance before the tournament but they managed to turn raw talent into a successful team effort. Having hardly played much cricket recent because of domestic troubles they had everything going against them but they battled back superbly. Just for sheer heart and desire Pakistan deserved that.
Australia, India, South Africa, England, Windies and Sri Lanka all played tons and tons of cricket over the past 2 years with experienced players at the highest levels. Yet Pakistan go all the way again and this time have the experience and intelligence to finish the job
Fantastic team performances, what an amazing effort
What a victory. Tooting High Street was a sight to see: loud cheering, people dancing on the street (and on trucks/buses as they passed by slowly - until the police came along anyway). How did you celebrate in your areas?

Just celebrated at home and with my West Indian neighbours lol - they were rooting for Pakistan big time and went mad when we won!!! Windies are officially my second team now!!
Did anyone see the Pakistani Bus outside Lords - what a sight!! LMFAO - there were people on the roof and hanging out of the doors and back, just like in Pakistan - what a sight that must have been for people around St Johns Wood.
It was a great victory and it feels so good that we are WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!
Clearly we are the best Twenty20 team in the world - 2 consecutive finals, and really we should have beaten India last time as well but for 'that' rash Misbah shot.
Respect to Sri Lanka as well - a class act on and off the pitch.
When and where is the next cricket WC?

My old neighbourhood was buzzing according to the rents. I can't in my neighbourhood - celebrating is bit low brow over here
Nothing wrong with it IMO where there is a large Pakistani community, such as Tooting or Bradford. Would look out of place though if only 1 family was out dancing in the streets.

There's nothing much wrong with driving around tooting.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Get your coat. We'd have given you a good beating for that joke alone!!
;-)
Honestly though, non-Pakistanis were all surprised smiles and joy to see us celebrating like it was 1999 (no pun intended). Thankfully there was no trouble and the street partying was what everyone needed on the longest day of the year!
Had a BBQ, nothing to do with the cricket to be fair, we'd arranged it before. It just made for a very happy one.
I didnt give the team much of a chance and following the game against England there was nothing to alter that opinion. However the bowling unit was very good after that game and this is what won us the cup I feel. Was ecstatic we won considering the defeat a couple of years earlier.
Quit your jibber jabber!!!
Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??
