Federer won because he never lost his concentration.

I think the main reason Federer went on and won was the fact that he is fitter. He is obviously a better player but was not at his best today. Roddick will rue this defeat as he'll probably never get a better chance to win Wimbledon. Sad for him.

But the greats always seem to find a way to pull through and triumph.

Nah, all of the best are arrogant, you have to think you're the best to be the best. But I think he was saying what you would expect when Roddick quipped something about "yeah you lost last year but you already had 5". It was only a joke by Roddick, but Federer didn't quite know what to say in reply and muddled through it, and did look a bit of a cock.

I think he's as modest as you can be really. You have to remember he probably doesnt go a day without being told/hearing how amazing he is, the best ever etc.
