          Mixed feelings.

I'd rather we save him for a good run on the final test so he can go out in style than see him struggle and look **** for 2 tests when he can barely walk.

But he will be missed no doubt.

          Ridiculous.
Because it's all part of the game, playing around the weather. If you lose a day you have to change tactics and be more aggressive. It can make for an exciting finish.

            - advice needed please - a load of us are going eng vs aus at old trafford - it's on sunday 30th aug....we are prob planning on going manchester on the saturday, staying over and going out for a night out, then go on a all dayer sun and too the cricket, and then out sunday night..

Can you offer any advice like hotels, where is good to stay in terms of proximity to the ground but also proximity to night life, where we should be looking to go out on the lash etc

basically we don't want to book a hotel one side of manchester, but then can't easily get the ground, and at the same time we would like to be close to somewhere decent for nightlife.

In other words, Shaggy, is there a tranny cabaret club somewhere near Old Trafford?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

You can still go to Leeds, it's 'uphill' I think, like the birdcage.

OT is close enough to town for you to find somewhere in the centre – it’s about a fiver in a black cab or a 20 minute or so walk.

If you’re just after bog standard digs I’d look at somewhere like the Ibis on Portland Street – bang in the middle of town.

In terms of going out – well I like the Northern Quarter…all the best bars are over that way, but if you want absolute carnage and places heaving full of ****s and slappers, then Deansgate/Deansgate Locks is the place for you.

sound - the ibis is the ideal type of place - stayed in them before and it's ideal for a big group. - i have been manchester before on a few nights out - i'd like the sound of the northern qtr but i'd imagine with the lads i am with we will end up in deansgate

                          That's cricket.

Seriously, it is tedious when people make jokes like that.

Strauss gone already, actually he nearly went 1st ball lbw but got away with that one.

Bopara just gone as well, England 16-2
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
