I see Blake is out of the championships with a Hamstring injury.

I imagine there will be quite a few people asking questions what with the timing of the injury, most likely bad luck but no doubt speculation will mount.

Anyone see that British 100m sprinter clock 9.91 over the weekend. Never heard of the guy before and suddenly out of nowhere, 9.91 seconds. Hmmmmm.......

Yes saw that, the only people who've ran faster this year are Gay and Powell, both of whom have just failed tests. Even if the poor guy is legal, no ones going to believe him

He ran at the Olympics. Has been getting faster for last few seasons

He's been hovering around the 10.10 mark since 2009, then this year all of a sudden 4 PBs and then he runs sub-10 seconds. Suspicious, very suspicious.

Don't even remember him at the Olympics (where the best GB sprinter was Adam Gemili). All just seems too dodgy.

10.05 into a wind of 1.3 m/s then 9.91 with a tail wind of 1.1. Its not a massive difference. Ran 10.13 relatively flat wind at Olympics dont see it as a huge leap myself

From one season to another it's a pretty huge leap IMO. From 7th in a semi-final of the Olympics, to fastest legal time in the world this year. He's improved by two tenths of a second in a year. If he did that each year he'd break the world record in a couple of years

I'm not saying he's definitely cheating, far from it. However, it does stand out as exceptional progress, and under these circumstances, sadly nowadays, that's suspicious.

Not really, he's been tipped to become a potential medal contender for a while, so people have obviously seen potential in him. GB athletics is pretty clean IMO.

He ran 10.09 4 years ago. He seems to have always had it in him. Obviously something has clicked

Apparently he's now finally free of injuries so it could just be that. I really hope so anyway Dave. Maybe I'm just too cynical

Also he's only young. As we see with footballers all the time, the changes in physique when growing from teens into 20s are quite dramatic.

                            Unless you're Aquilani.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
