Pacquiao to face Cotto in Vegas

    Looking forward to this one

Manny Pacquiao's next fight will be against three-time world champion Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas in November.

Filipino Pacquiao, has won six world titles in as many different weight divisions, while Puerto Rico's Cotto is the WBO welterweight world champion.

Promoter Bob Arum, who represents both fighters said: "Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto have reached an agreement to fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

"I'm really excited because it's a real fight. These are two real warriors."

Pacquiao has risen to the top of the pound-for-pound rankings over the past 19 months thanks to victories in four different weight divisions.

He beat Juan Manuel Marquez (super-featherweight), David Diaz (lightweight), Oscar de la Hoya (welterweight) and most recently Ricky Hatton (light-welterweight) in May.

Cotto was in action more recently, narrowly defeating Ghana's Joshua Clottey by split decision at New York's Madison Square Garden last month.

Arum added: "Whichever way this fight goes, I think it's going to be a classic because of the way these guys fight. There where will be a lot of engagement.

"They're great fighters. Cotto and Pacquiao are gutty guys. If you want blood and action and excitement, this is the fight."

Cotto is my favourite fighter but im a bit worried he gets hit to much to win this one. He's far more live than Hatton and Oscar though so it'll be interesting to see what happens if he lands, Pac has been vulnerable to the body in the past aswell which Cotto is brilliant at.

Though one thing im getting sick of is these catchweight fights, if you think you can beat Cotto go to his division and fight him instead of making it 145.

        Needs must, I suppose.

Considering that he's fought the majority of his fights at 130 pounds it was probably asking to much of Manny to go up to 147 against someone of Cotto's quality.

He should stick to 140 then if he cant handle 147. All this crap is part of whats ****ting on the sport, catchweights, a load of crappy "world" titles, its beyond a joke now. Its only being done so Cotto is weaker anyway, not because he wont go to 147.

Manny's the fight that everybody wants, hence Cotto coming down to 145. Like every sport these days it's ruled by money and it makes financial sense for this fight to happen.

It know what your saying about the catchweights but I'm more than happy to see this fight happen and I'm not to bothered about the weight.
