Cant put into words how much of a sham all these awards for him are. This is ridiculous. He was about the 50th best player in the league last season and I genuinely believe that's being kind yet got footballer of the year. Button wins the f1 thing, Carl Froch the world champion beats good Americans, Jessica Ennis doing her stuff, Haye wins heavyweight belt and this this guy wins it? What for? Scoring 2 goals and getting a couple of assists? He was that good last season he spent half of it on the bench.

I thought the team award was a joke too. I mean the womens cricket team pissed on anyone they faced and won everything in sight, but allegedly the mend team was better.

I never understand why any team members get nominated. Whilst there are very rare exceptions they don't compete on the grand stage on their own and the results aren't totally of their own doing.
