Yeh I applied for tickets today. Quite a straightforward process really.

You can apply for a maximum of 20 sessions in an application, you choose a price band you want to purchase but also a max price band so gives you the choice to go for more expensive seats if the cheaper ones aren't available.

I hovered over the 'apply to book now' button on the Olympics ticketing website. Picked the day of the men's 100m semis and final, amongst loads of other stuff. Ticket prices are £725, £420, £295, £125, £50. So £50 seats obviously, which will be really **** anyway. So that's a minimum £100 for me, wife & boy to sit in rubbish seats about a mile away from the action.

What the **** do you get for the £725 seats?!

Anyway I can't be arsed. **** that. Only interested in the 100m so I'd be paying over £10 per second, essentially. **** it. Telly'll do.

I read on someone's FB earlier that tickets for the opening ceremony are between £2000-£3000
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I have applied for the men's Football and Handball finals, plus the evening sessions of the Athletics on the preceding Friday and Saturday.

Just discovered that if you are succesful, they take the money out of your account before they tell you you've 'won'. I've just ordered about £500 tickets on the assumption that I'll be unsuccessful. Could end up badly overdrawn in the summer.
        Oh I don't know.

I'm really annoyed they are selling tickets so early!! The chances are pretty good that I'll be living and working in London in summer 2012 but I'm not going to buy tickets a year and a half in advance in case my summer placement doesn't go as planned and I end up not getting a graduate job....

I have a feeling there will be further sales in the future for the sessions which haven't sold out straight away.

There is no way that enough people will apply for tickets for all of the sessions, but they want a sell out.
            Oh I don't know.

Top price for the opening ceremony is £2012.

It's quite a coincidence when you think about it.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Huh? why price the ticket at £2012 - why not just call it £2000 or £2010? I guess the extra £12 is something to do with VAT rise?

Someone said to me that the 2012 logo looks 'gay'. I did not understand. Then they said it looks like someone is banging someone from behind. Picture that

                    Er, yeah, maybe...

Seriously, I think it's just a marketing gimmick.

i wonder how much extra they'll make by tacking on a celebratory 12 pounds.

Probably an extra £12 per ticket.
