    Edwin Valero

Was one of the premier lightweight boxers in the world. Poor technique but could punch like a mule. Record of 27 fights and 27 victories all of which were by way of kayo. There was talk of him facing Pacman in the near future.

He was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murdering his wife. Apparently stabbed her during an altercation in a hotel room. He was found dead this morning, whilst still in police custody, by all accounts he'd hung himself.

    What a horrible ****ing mess.

There's been few similar incidents with boxers over the past year or so hasn't there? Suicides and what not. Very strange.

Heard before he was arrested on suspicison of murdering his wife, never knew he had hung himself. How sad.

Hate people who commit a crime and then kill themselves, ****ing cowards.

Cowardly or overcome with remorse and guilt?

Nonsense. The guy was an out and out cunt.

Couldn't give two ****s if he was the best boxer since the original Sugar Shane he won't be missed.

He was a ****ing nut, apparently the accident he had a while ago damaged his brain which can explain his inconsistent, unpredictable actions. Coupled with drug abuse and the like. I also think despite being a good puncher that he would have been badly exposed as he moved up in weight, especially looking at the number of top class P4P fighters in the welterweight division.

I was always looking forward to seeing him live on TV. Was his first 20+ fights not all 1st round KO's too?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
