Snooker genius - RIP. Appalling human by all accounts though. His "character" was a total paranoid aggressive cunt off the snooker pitch by all accounts.

I remember him as the first celebrity I ever saw in the real world and in the flesh. It was at Fairyhouse Races - I was about six and I couldn't take my eyes off him. He wore a Fedora and sported an outrageous black eye.
Loved watching him play snooker. I even loved Bobby Davro's impersonation of him.

It was amazing to see the place where they used to hold the World Championships pre-TV/Crucible....some scruffy little British Legion place in Brum. Amazing really.
And THAT break against Jimmy White in 1982...
