aye - it's the same with all links courses - they are built with the coastal british weather in mind as their first defence.
For example I've played Royal Liverpool(where the open was in 2007) loads of times when i was good
One day, sun shining, no wind i went round 6 over, two days later in the wind and I was hitting driver, 3 iron and not getting up on holes 2 days early I was hitting driver, wedge too.
If we get 4 still, dry days then the winning score will be 15 under or more. One day of wind and rain though and you could probably halve it.
