Broad has looked better and more confident in 10 minutes than any other batsman has this morning*.

Love Trott's grit, he'll be invaluable in the Ashes.

He will need someone to bat with him. But agree he seems to revel in really grinding a score out.

He and Broad are looking solid but will need to get the score up to around 200 which would be quite fightback all things considered.

Awesome! When was the last time an England number nine made a ton?

                        Phenomenal innings by Broad.

England were 102-7 when he walked out. 292 now. Incredible scorecard today...!

Righto, time for me to head off but what a day's Test cricket that was: England 47-5 at one point, Mohammad Amir the youngest ever on the Lord's honour's board, complete carnage wherever you looked. And then came Trott and then came Broad - the partnership currently 244, the highest for England for the eighth wicket, the sixth-highest in Tests; Broad the third Englishman to score a ton batting at nine; Broad and dad Chris the first son and father combination to score Test tons for England. But the best stat for me is the fact that Stuart Broad had only scored one ton before today - for Leicestershire Under-19s against Derbyshire Under-19s - and that goes right back to his time at school.

Bowler bowls. Batter bats. Excitement everywhere.

                              I missed it all.

Tell the truth now, you're all making it up, aren't you?
                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Definitely worth watching the highlights. A welcome distraction from all things football today...
