Ok - the season the "normal season" ends - everyone has scored 'fed ex' points during the normal season.

the top 125 'fed ex ' points scorers qualify for these playoffs. the playoffs are basically just like a 'normal' tour event - ie four rounds of golf, - which again, those top 125 players competiting in the fed ex cup score points

you have the first play off - The Barclays - after the four rounds, the top 100 fed ex point holders, go onto the play in the Deutsche Bank Championship - another 4 rounds here, and the top 70 qualify for the 3rd and final play off - The BMW Championship

After this - the top 30 points holders qualify for the final - which is the Tour Championship

just been speaking to a mate via facebook - a club pro golfer I used to play a lot of golf with when we were juniors - he too, knows **** all about the fed ex cup and all he does every day and has done for like 20 years is watch/play golf

Did anyone see Corey Pavin's **** up when he introduced the US team at the opening ceremony? He wrapped it up and had totally forgotten to introduce Stewart Cink ....Pavin looked horrified but he turned it round nicely and recovered the situation. Pavin seems a great bloke.
