Anyone else see the amazing documentary of The Hurrican Alex Higgins? What a sad story, but a genius player.

He's an absolute one off. I struggle to think of ANYONE else in any sport that I can say that about. he makes the game look like a different game all together if that makes sense.
Like Robertson said at the end, Ronnie is still a level above everyone else.

Saw it when it was first aired a few weeks ago and discussed it here

It's more than effortless though, it's way beyond that, it's like it's a different game completely. The best I can describe it is that it's like Art. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's how I see it.

I can't say that about any of the other's you mention above really, they were just exceptional at their sport, but it still looked like their sport, not art.

I love it when he switches mid-break from right hand to left hand. The guy is just incredible.

I know what you are saying but you are only talking about when they are he is on the top of his game and all those I mentioned do the same as Sullivan which is in essence make the game look easy and are simply unbeatable becuase they do things with the arrows, golf balls, footy that others cant do.

O'Sullivan is the best sportsman in the world. I think that's unarguable.
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
