I wouldn't class Haddin as the tail. 2 left before we're there yet.

Wonderful end to the day but, absolute cracking way for Pietersen to end the day he got his ashes double.

Now it's more a race between us and the rain than us and the aussies and it's a nail biter.

Do you see Haddin bowling, North keeping wicket and Siddle opening the batting?

      I thought not.

I don't know who is in charge of Australia - let's call him Hozson.

Hozson has taken the team ranked number one in the world just a couple of years ago to also rans. Hodgson has taken Europe's number one team a couple of seasons ago to level with Blackpool and Newcastle.

Both lead teams that struggle at home and are terrible away (I would say terrible home and away but that might sound like a TV review).

Both have annoying voices and talk crap (OK, that's an assumption about Hozson but he is in Australian sport so it's almost certainly applicable).

Both Hozson and Hodgson have brought in crap new players to replace ones who have left.
          • Doherty (slow left arm, useless) = Konchesky (slow left back, useless)
          • Bollinger (mid-paced, slow fielder) = Poulsen (slow-paced midfielder)

          It's uncanny.

The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

looks like its going to be nice and wet tomorrow

Thunderstorms through the day....although if the wicket is a bit sticky Jimmy could swing the mutha****er all over the place and knock us over quickly.

I'll be up all night. Watching NFL Pats V Jets. Not expecting anything from the cricket, especially with the weather. I expect a draw like most.

Well it can save them this test but it won't save them in the series.

I confess I don't know much about Haddin but I haven't heard him classed as a wicketkeeper/batsman. OK, so it's unfair to compare any wicketkeeper to Gilchrist when it comes to batting but I was under the impression Haddin is a keeper who can bat rather than a genuine all-rounder like Alec Stewart or even Prior.

If he's not a proper batsman then I'd put him as the start of the tail although obviously he's the thick and bushy part of the tail, not the spindly end of it like Siddle or Bollinger.

I have no idea how he describes himself but Haddin is a very good batsman.

I'm looking forward to this tonight (weather permitting of course) more than the Villa game

OK, thanks. I'll defer to your superior knowledge and roll over on this.

                                Oh f*ck, I know.

I have already scheduled a break during the second half so I can watch America's Next Top Model with my daughter. It's far more entertaining than Hodgson's crap.

Still I have to start getting back to a better sleep pattern so may just give it half an hour. Then I'll probably listen to the rest of the opening session on the radio in bed.
