Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

How can anyone be bothered about fans celebrating cricket matches? It's a very boring game which, from my own experiences in both countries, is far more popular in Australia than in England. No-one here really gives a stuff about it, so you can rest assured that no-one's making "snide remarks" (like Australian sports fans never do) as no-one cares who wins. Just about every member of England's current cricket team could walk along Lime Street in Liverpool and I can guarantee that 99% of people wouldn't have a clue who they were. Like rugby - both sorts - it's a minority sport with no mass following over here.Originally posted by banditos View PostWhy the **** did you mention the cricket Steve? It's terrible over here, surrounded by poms making snide remarks.
Fortunately it's been on in the early hours here because of the time difference so it won't intrude on the sports channels while we're awake and the series will go unnoticed by a blissfully indifferent British public
