I was at school with a lad called Paddington End. He was in the year above. As I recall he liked marmalade sandwiches but wasn't from darkest Peru.

      True story.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Out of interest, does anyone know why England's bowlers were about 4mph faster yesterday than they were earlier in the series? Deliveries from Anderson and Tremlett were both up at 89 and Bresnan hit 91.

Since Sydney is at sea level, it's got to be a measurement error, surely?

A wee bit calmer in here.......!!!!!!!!

...Did you see Michael Clarkes interview...???

He thinks they can still win it and wants to bat for a 180/200 lead.

WTF? Should be good to watch though, 20/20 batting for a day and a half.

BTW. In answer to you question Neil... I've no idea.

Clarke had to say that. It's not going to happen - England probably won't even have to bat again.

Also Siddle, Hilfenhaus and Johnson all bowled over 90mph, with Watson touching 87. Bizarre.

                Australian bowler bowls again.

England batsman doesn't bother trying to score a run.

Australian fielder claims a catch even though batsman hasn't hit it, the ball ran straight into the ground and no Australian has touched it.

                Umpires review the incident.

                No wicket.

                Botham explodes with furious disdain.

Another rhyme Jim Morrison could have used instead of "wallow in the mire". He just didn't try hard enough.

It works. Jim would be proud. Rhyming couplets rule .
