I'm not trying to pick you up on it to score a point but surely it's an 'American football' or 'American Football football.'

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

i've always had the idea that raiders fan were a bit like... hmmm, who can i pick that's analogous... stoke fans? millwall fans? only more in to something like the insane clown posse. my personal favorites are the packers, but not for any footballing reasons. i like them because they are owned by the city so everyone who lives in green bay owns a part of the team, and they remain successful. very idyllic. wish everyone could work it out that way.

Yeah, the Packers are a contender for me. I didn't know that but it fits with the image I have of them as a community club, sorry, franchise. And the cheeseheads are a laugh.

did i get the english teams right? think of a support that's so ugly and gew up so disadvantaged that they are now legitimately mentally and emotionally unstable, and have taken to wearing make up and pretending to evil in some demonstrative way that relates to horror movies or the bible.

Not sure about Stoke. Millwall, maybe. Do Raiders fans feel "no-one likes us, we don't care" more than fans from elsewhere?

And do they kick a million kinds of **** out of rival fans as soon as the chance arises?

isnt it true that games can go on for days?

they also do something with their hands to signal a tea break?

and its not as hard as rugby

                    or something like that

I used to like the Browns because of their silly name, the dog pound and the fact they re-emerged after the fans were disenfranchised by the move to Baltimore.

Then I found out the name has nothing to do with a rejection of fancy nicknames and is just a vanity hangover from their egomaniac founder so I've gone off them.

I've got a soft spot for the Steelers and the Bills. Are they suitable contenders for my affections?

The Bills are a clown organisation. Their front office is laughable. They'll deserve their number one pick next year.

i grew up a steelers fan, which is funny because i'd never seen a game of football in my life.

                              You're Canadian really, aren't you?

What the hell do you watch on TV over Christmas when there's nothing but bowl games on?

i've seen one now, but not when i was little. my hometown is baseball/hockey obsessed.

and since i don't have a tv, the answer is very little. i took great comfort when i was aboad in not knowing who won any of the super bowls.
