As a person, I don't really like Murray. He thinks a bit too much of himself, that's what puts me off. And what has he achieved? Not really more what Henman did.
          Are we winning?

IMO he's a way ahead of Henman both in terms of achievements and ability. Way ahead. I don't get why so many people dislike him. Where the hell does the 'arrogant' label come from? I think he comes across as a sound lad.

He's maintained a higher level, won more tour events and reached finals. That in itself is more than Henman did.

He comes across as a miserable sod at times you've got to admit.

Yep, he comes across as a bit quiet, and probably shy. Its easy to misinterpret that. Oh and the dour Scot thing is easy to chuck at him too

I'd love it if he made the breakthrough and win, can't see it though. I remember he came along at the same time as Amir Khan and Lewis Hamilton, so he's the only one who hasn't reached the top of their sport now, of those three who had huge potential.

On the whole I don't really see it. What do people expect? Should he be skipping around cracking jokes and giggling? I don't get it.

I do agree he could enjoy his tennis more...he always seems to be battling himself, to be unhappy with his game...but he's striving for perfection, he's a professional, so I can understand it.

To be fair when I play tennis I'm the same.

murray comes across as a bit "stand-off-ish" and that may be taken as aroogant. IMO he is just not keen on the lime light and subsequent pressure of beng the only half decent tennis player in the country.

when you see him off court and not doing interviews etc.... he does appear a normal happy bloke.

would love to see him win a grand slam but got a feeling he wont untill he gets over the "stage fright" and nerves that plague him in finals.......and that isnt easy to do.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Depends what you mean by reached the top. Maybe he's never been no.1 or won a slam but if you ask me he has most definitely reached the top. He's been world no.3, been top 4 for ages, reached slam finals and earns millions and millions of pounds.

In fact I'd say he has greater claims of reaching the top than Khan. Much greater.

I don't dislike him per se, it's just that I can't warm to him at all. He's better than Henman, but how much in terms of achievements is he ahead? Not much. He won what, two or three Masters? A bit like Henman. I preferred Henman's character much more than Murray's. More likeable lad.

I didn't like Henman, he was too nice, wasn't a winner. I don't know Henman's exact record but Murray has won some big ATP events and reached two slam finals. And he's still, what, 25?

Oh yeah, he's a top player and has maintained it. When I say reach the top I mean winning a Grand Slam event. He's got time yet, but his form and mentality in the finals he's been in wouldn't suggest he's going to do it any time soon.

Re Khan - he's won the WBC belt for his weight, which is the best one to get, which you could argue is reaching the top of his sport. He can't do much else other than win the other belts.
