Exactly, someone else knows that he's talking about at least.

Nobody knows if he might have stepped it up in the latter rounds, but in all honesty, it didnt look like it was forthcoming. I appreciate that he may be someone who often does better in the second half of fights, but as i said, khan was a step up in class tonight and there's nothing to say that Khan would have LET him step it up in the latter rounds.

      Can't disagree with that.

Anyways, here's to 3 points at the Emirates tomorrow

This lurker pisses me off with his secterian attitude - if you lived over here, you'd appreciate my anger..
I'm not dismissing your anger mate. I just dont think there's anything to be gained for either side, by letting emotions get carried away and ending up having an e-fight.

I'm sure if the lad is good enough, he'll be back on this type of stage again.

I hope so Vermilion - but, he's 31 - this could've passed him by now..

                  Unless he gets a rematch..

That was a farce, the cut was nowhere near bad enough for the fight to be stopped. ****'s sake, Morales's eye against Maidana was worse than that - the guy wasn't hurt or shaken, and with a bit of corner work, it wouldn't have affected his vision that badly.

                    BUT

It was one sided. McCloskey had little power and Khan was a class above in everything. McCloskey is never going to be good enough to fight the fighters Khan is going to, or even the fights in his recent past. Maidana would have killed the Irishman, as would Kotelnik (sp?).

Sorry Irish brethren, there was never going to be a battering dished out in the second half of the fight akin to what Maidana gave Khan in his last fight. Khan still won that fight as well, remember. (Allegedly...)

Right, far be it from me to agree with Craig normally () but he's right, enough of that already, this might be a boxing thread but lets leave the fighting to the pro's eh?

Absolutely no politics, however much in jest or whatever, in a sports thread please.... and deliberately winding people up is, well, a bit of a silly way to spend a Saturday night.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                      Mine angry and defrauded young?

Which is not going to happen.

Bradley in the summer then Khan will move up to 147 and fight Berto/Ortiz

There's been more fighting in this thread than there was in the ring.

Juanma, **** sake! This is why this "we'll wait till its a bigger fight" stuff gets on my tits, though Gamboa would have knocked his block off but still, it'd have been a great event.

Great to see the Andre Berto hype train end, sounded like a cracker, I think Ortiz is quite a bit better than Khan but theres obviously doubts about him mentally or were until last night.

And Froch dumps Hennessey, finally!!! Bit late but if he comes through the super 6 ok there will be some decent money makers out there for him.
