I could care less about the arrogance, everyone can't be the same boring boy next door crap.Originally posted by rcasemore View Postit was harsh for either to lose that in the end, Groves deserved it simply as he didn't come across as an odious, cocky dickhead.
Should be a re-match IMO
It's too early in their career to be going through rematch wars plus DeGale needs a new trainer anyway, Ol Jim is mediocre at best and so is Frank. All of Frank's talented fighters eventually jump ship and so should DeGale.
Groves may well get world championship fights and get knocked out cold.

but in a sport like boxing if you talk like that you need to back it up - he didn't tonight, was a very close fight and as I said either can feel unlucky losing.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostI could care less about the arrogance, everyone can't be the same boring boy next door crap.

He needs to go back to the drawing board, realise he's not as great as he thought he was and put in the hard work and do his talking in the ring, he might actually benefit from this loss in the long run a bit like Khan has.

I cant stand Warren but im not sure why you're criticising him after tonight! He wouldnt be top of the bill infront of over 10k people in just his 11th fight under any other promoter thats for sure. He's with the right man for now.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostI could care less about the arrogance, everyone can't be the same boring boy next door crap.

You don't have to be a cocky, disrespectful prick either though.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostI could care less about the arrogance, everyone can't be the same boring boy next door crap.

Suppose somewhere in between would be right - ultra confident in your ability you need to be in Boxing but at the same time you don't have to be ridiculously big headed and cuntish ala DeGale.
Groves comes across as a genuinely decent guy. Even if he is a Chav supporter

I agree with your comments that he should back it up, but that's up to him and that's his personality. As I said that stuff doesn't personally bother me at all and it adds a bit of variety to this highly santised commercial sporting world. The stuff that comes out of Bernard Hopkins and Floyd Mayweather's mouth is far more non-PC than anything that DeGale has said.Originally posted by rcasemore View Postbut in a sport like boxing if you talk like that you need to back it up - he didn't tonight, was a very close fight and as I said either can feel unlucky losing.

You may be right that DeGale needs this loss just like Haye and Khan did but it won't matter is he doesn't change his low grade trainer.

Warren is good for people at this point in their careers but long term any talented fighter should have a Frank Warren exit strategy.Originally posted by Chris View PostI cant stand Warren but im not sure why you're criticising him after tonight! I guess I'm a bit weird but the trash talk is entertaining for me, people like Groves bore me. Anyway, Groves had an excellent game plan so hat's off to him.Originally posted by Rudo View PostYou don't have to be a cocky, disrespectful prick either though.
