Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

England bowlers labouring this morning. One wicket in a session with the tail exposed? Not good enough.
Sell..

Definition alert: I thought you were deemed to have carried your bat only if you're not out and faced the first ball of the innings.
I could be mistaken. Perhaps the definition has changed and in these more informal times, when a suit jacket, blue jeans and brown brogues is thought to be an acceptable habilimentary combination, loafing about up the non-striker's end while your partner faces the first, fiery over, delivered by your opponents' best strike bowler, doesn't entirely undermine the nobility of the achievement..
