Ways to make sports more interesting

In your opinion what would be some cool or funny ways to make a certain sport (permanently or as a one off thing) more interesting to watch and or play.

Firstly I'd like to see a few more horse races like Palio Di Siena, No saddles no rules and if jockey falls off the horse and its not DQ'd if it runs a place.

Also though i have a new found appreciation for golf and now enjoy watching it, would be interesting to see them have some sort of time limit on each hole and if they don't sink the ball inside a certain time the ball explodes and they get some bad score like +3 to + 5. Be interesting seeing them running around, rushing shots n fanging it around on a golf cart etc.

Golf - you kinda beat me to it but i will elaborate - I do love golf but also think some sort of 'Speed' golf would be excellent....

racing round in buggies, you get bonus's for finishing holes quicker and penalised for being slow - so, say making par at normal pace would be worse than making a double bogey but in like 3 mins from tee to green

Also - maybe limit it it to say 4 clubs - a wood of the golfers choice, an iron of choice, a wedge and putter.

Should have guessed it would go this way and BTW to the person who created the lingerie football league.

The other idea I had PTP and have wanted to play with mates but not good enough yet is playing for clubs, so you partened up with person and whoever gets the better score gets to take whatever club they want from the other player that would be great and also good just to do with your mates aswell.
