Large by area, or population? Australia is small by the latter

Population. My point is that India won 3 medals at the last Olympics. Thats with a population of 1 Billion people. I just find it odd.

Not sure they have the right coaching or infrastructure to train athletes to the top level

We are one of the best nations in the world for medals per capita, and arguably the best amongst larger (20mil+) nations.

It's looking like it'll be one of our worst results in the last 20-30 years.

My pleasure comes from the British fallout to the result (and other subsequent failings), not the result itself, as we are similarly disappointed in how our countrymen fared.
