Yes. Everyone knows the top two in the medals table will be China and USA, so the race for next best is where its at.

They think they're better than us at sport and are a bit obsessed with us

Bloody Olympics, it messes with your head. I found myself getting close to interested in the sailing yesterday.

I draw the line at sailing. I'm sure they're tremendously skilled but watching boats move around very slowly is not my idea of fun.

Sailing, judo, fencing, synchronised swimming and horse dancing have all proved impenetrable for me.

Oh yeah, handball too. That is *****e*. And water polo.

Some dodgy judging in the boxing again tonight.

American welterweight robbed by the judges.

Looks like the American welterweight who was robbed last night has been reinstated after the American team protested the result.

Good stuff. Anyone who watched the fight could clearly see that the American had won the fight. Now i wonder if Savon and the Cuban's are thinking of protesting.

I wasn't actually watching it for any more than a few seconds - you're right, it's terrible to watch. But after switching to something else I did find myself wondering about who might be winning and whether Ainslie would get some points back on his rival.

And then I came to my senses.

I agree about the other sports. Except handball. I can't watch it for long and I don't care about it but at least it's clear what's happening. The others you mention are completely impenetrable and unwatchable.

Same goes for swimming. They're all very athletic and so on but it's a yawn as a spectator sport.

I've found the volleyball surprisingly interesting. And I don't mean the beach volleyball which has been largely disappointing as a sport and as...er, how can I put this...a spectacle...yeah, that'll do.

Proper volleyball. Especially Destinee Hooker.
