On a vaguely related note I'm watching an old QI episode where they are talking about some medals that have previously been awarded atthe Olympics. In 1948 at the London Olympics Gabriele Bianchi of Italy won the Bronze medal for Vocal Music. No Gold or Silver medal was awarded

all this talk of unsuccessful sports losing funding to successful sports, surely thats the wrong way round?
cycling has the infrastructure, coaches and athletes so why give them more money, why not boost another sport thats struggling?Comment
