If the Olympics has done one thing for me it has reminded me why I have spent my entire life watching all manner of sport. It is to see people achieve and excel. It is to enjoy watching people achieve their dreams after dedicated years of their life to training to become the best, or to at least try. It is to watch people achieve their dreams and for me to imagine what it would be like.

I hope football can soak up some of these values.

Its highlighted how arrogant and removed from reality football is. Its more of a celeb parade now than a bastion of sporting achievement. What I mean is that footballers are generally spoilt, whingeing cunts.
