Wales are getting dicked in the third place game. Despite the ref helping them out.

Tbh, i doubt anyone will really care about 'this one', 3rd place play offs are a farce, i don't see how any player can produce their best, and today, it showed on both sides, very scrappy game.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostScore flattered them in this one. Massively forward pass for their first try, but yes, they've done well.
It's just ****ing typical, that today of all days the ref got a decision wrong in Wales favour, but when they neeeded a 50/50 decision to go their way in the biggest game in their history....well, as i say...Typical!
ps: think they'd have beaten the Aussies with Warburton playing.Last edited by Vermilion; 21-10-11, 10:35 AM.

Again, they actually scored more points than S.Africa. So two.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWon one game against a higher ranked team and that was Ireland.
However, i do sense a theme forming amongst the English media and fans to dumb down Wales world cup, suppose it helps mask the fact Wales did better than England.
worm on the line....and..cast.Last edited by Vermilion; 22-10-11, 11:49 AM.

I don't think it's got anything to do with England, it's just an honest appraisal of how Wales performed.
If you lose three games however valiantly it's not really something to get too excited about.
Of course everyone loves to slag England and it's true they weren't great.
However I was told by someone I know at the RFU before it all started that the majority view was that if the team reached the semi's it was as much as they could hope for.
Clearly you can't come out in the press and say that before the tournament starts so when the team gets knocked out the whole what a load of **** thing kicks in.

How did they beat South Africa???? They lost in the match to them and finished below them in the group with 15 points to S.A's 18??? Thats like saying we won the Premiership in 2008/2009 because we scored more goals than Man Utd...Originally posted by Vermilion View PostAnd still manged to go further than most.
Actually, they lost twice, they beat S.Africa, well, they scored more points anyway.
They lost to South Africa, Australia, France, and scrapped a win against Samoa.
They did well getting to get to the Semi's, but it was hardly a consistent display. The Welsh have always accused the English fans of arrogance, so what a surprise it was to see the majority of the welsh fans thinking that a place in the final was a foregone conclusion. Its amazing what a little bit of success did.
edit: I think you mean wales beat south africa because they got further. I understand now.Last edited by Suarez; 22-10-11, 11:03 PM.

Well, Wales actually put more points on the board than S.Africa in the game, it's not their fault that when they kick through the posts the points are'nt given.
It's not like it happens often either, but it did to Wales v S.A. AND in a world cup, which is very hard luck.
Had they won that game they'd have been playing Australia, Captain Warburton on the field, and that tackle would'nt have happened, and if it had, in all likleyhood there would have been a neutral ref anyway, not one with FRENCH/IRISH roots making a harsh decision in a game where the Welsh are playing THE FRENCH having just knocked the IRISH out.
From that they would have gone on to win the whole world cup and every tournament from now to 2017.
It's sooo obvious, and denying it is just sour grapes. mmwwaahahahahaLast edited by Vermilion; 23-10-11, 08:07 AM.

oH, about the rfu comment about the majority view being the semis was about right for england but they could'nt say it, well, everyone SAID the quarters was the best Wales could do, so why is it any different for England, and tbf, english football and rugby could do with a reality check, and that starts with an honest appraisal of their chances in these tournaments. imo.
Shame on the RFU if that's the case.

France got ****ed over by that ref in the first half. McCaw left his feet continually and didn't get penalised once. France did it and got pinged each time. Thankfully Weepu's ass dropped out and he missed a couple of sitters."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
