    Boston Red Sox

If FSG didn't own them then all you could do would be to laugh at them. Must be the biggest chokers ever.

Lost a nine game lead in a month and missed the playoffs. The Mets don't even come close. The way it happened in the ninth was just the biggest jelly arm syndrome ever showed in sport.

I would laugh at them if I knew that them losing out on a few millions wouldn't affect us.

They can say that if they need to invest more into Red Sox that it won't affect us at all but they are owned by the same company so in one way it will affect us.

The 2007 / 2008 Mets come pretty damn close to the Red Sox. The Mets not only blew their division but also blew the wild card. Red Sox only blew the wild card. That's by the by it was a historic collapse and last night made for some cracking baseball action. Roll on the post season.

Meh. I'll still have a good laugh at the Red Sox. They spent around $300m on Gonzalez and Crawford last off season. Crawford is already looking like an almighty bust for them. They'll need to spend some money on their rotation if they're to go anywhere next season.

Baseball is even more boring than cricket.

But FFP means that clubs have to live within their means. That means there is little scope for FSG to spend a load more cash than the club is generating.

That is why a new stadium is a must even if it is only 15k more a game. 60k instead of 45k.

It may not make financial sense to do it just to increase it by 15k but it is a must if we want to win the league. We need to get higher income so we can offer the players higher wages and pay higher transfer fees.

If they must spend more money to get Red Sox back to the top then it won't make it easier for them to find money to build a new stadium.

Arn, I know you've been away but they are looking for a sponsor to pay for a new stadium.

Yup. That's not transfer fees. No such thing exists in baseball. That's simply the players salaries
