That's the quickest stoppage I've ever seen in UFC
7 seconds
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Rematch no doubt. Khan can't have complaints IMO, he's playing the victim. Maybe he got a slightly raw deal but he only has himself to blame, the best champions adapt and rise against adversity. I like it how no one mentions the point loss for the Peterson knockdown which wasn't either. Khan was getting a bit too cocky, this will bring him down a peg or two no doubt.
It was a crazy fight. Khan took this fight for granted and got what he deserved. Peterson was hungrier and the aggressor for most of the fight and there can't be too many complaints about the points decision.

Didnt think the ref was that bad to be honest, even if he was Amir should have took note of the warnings but he still kept doing it even in to the last round!
Maybe a good thing, there is a still a hell of a lot of flaws in his game.
So Khan is full of **** when he says the only reason he pushed him away was because he was coming in with his head ?
Not seen the fight tbh so can't really make a judgement.
Also, Is it unusual for for his trainer to make such official complaints about a fight one of his boxers is involved in, is he known to be a bad loser ?
Or, is that the two points deducted were actually the difference between winning and losing in this case, and so they are just generally pissed off and making a fuss, when in reality...the two points that were deducted were done so correctly ?
Went to watch this fight at 10am this morning, Khan was a flurry in the first round, knocking him over twice (only one given), almost the equivalent of Real getting that early goal last night.
Then the mrs came in, just as the fight was turning and said, whist pursing her lips "Oh, I actually know what happens in this one, hmmmm" Well that gave the result away straight away, totally ruined a great fight for me
Strange decision to take the fight I thought, especially in DC against the home fighter in a a non mandatory defence. He was too full of himself and the other guy beat him up in the middle rounds.
Sour grapes come the end, but the right decision was given. Definite rematch and Khan will take him out in 3 or 4 rounds. Lennox Lewis took fights for granted a couple of times and came back stronger - if Khan can do that, it'll nullify the loss.
I think if they have a rematch Khan will win. One thing I will say is he needs to put an end to calling out Mayweather. It's clear he's not ready for him. I even think Khan would struggle against Ortiz and Berto. For me had Peterson had a bigger punch he would've knocked Khan out. In the first couple of rounds you could see that Peterson was dazzled by Khan's speed but once he knew he could handle his power he started to walk Khan down and became more aggressive. Khan needed to stay away from the ropes.
I also think Khan's ring IQ was put into question once again tonight. Don't get me wrong he's a very good fighter but technically he still has many flaws to his game. He cannot fight on the inside (that was evident tonight) he tends to throw wild punches and leaves himself open due to being off balance. For me he needs to learn how to deal with pressure fighters, because pushing boxers away or running away like he was doing won't help his cause. Everyone know's that the American judges tend to favour the aggressor and that's why some of the rounds which were deemed very close could quite easily have gone to Peterson because he had a much higher work rate than Khan. Maybe the pushing away/holding the head down was a natural thing for Khan to do because of his inability to deal with pressure fighters. I wouldn't be suprised if Freddie Roach brought in more sparring partners who are good on the inside and like to stay on your chest.
Khan walked into that thinking all he had to do was turn up. Reminded me of the time Lewis did the same against rahman and paid the price. He tried to outbox a brawler and failed. This should be a big wakeup call.

I had the same impression. Makes you wonder about Roach to a degree, because Pacquiao looked like he prepared the same way for his last fight - and he clearly lost that one as well.

Khan was poor and peterson just wanted in more in the end.
Khan blitzed him in the first round and though this will be a walk in the park. And from then on he just looked like he was going through the motions trying to do the bare minimum to win....
Peterson on the other hand was the aggressor all the time, looking to get in and fight.
it was very even and very tough to call....a decent fight - khan clearly the better boxer, but peterson clearly up for it more.
In the end it came down to the points deducted....
it was strange - he gave them for pushing however, as peterson said straight after....i was expecting kahn to get deducted for constantly trying to pull and push peterson's head down.
Kahn certainly deserved 1 point to go, which would have made it a draw, 2 points seemed harsh but he can have no complaints....if he wants to be this boxing legend ala pacman or mayweather, he should be beating peterson without it being so close.....the second it was tight/close to call, kahn was in trouble
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
