I don't think I've watched the Mosconi Cup since the late great Sid Waddell was commentating on the not so great Earl the Pearl Strickland.

I used to be good, but developed a blind spot in the centre of my vision in one eye and it's ****ed my snooker/pool ability entirely. Couldn't pick an angle if my life depended on it.

Yeah, saw he was playing and I can't believe he is still one of their top players....figured he must be a wildcard to get bums on seats. Personally I can't stand him, belittles every opponent he plays and never shuts up, but that's something his support loves about him.

Regarding the game itself, American pool is pretty easy, pockets are like buckets and the 'great shots' that are ones that I always found pretty routine back when I played daily. But playing the same shots under the lights with a packed house probably adds a fair bit of difficulty, to be fair. It's something I'd like to get back into tho, a sport any mug can play.
