Yep I got into cricket in about 84/85 and Viv Richards was a hero, so much so I used to pretend to support Somerset
Joel Garner used to scare me
LOL +1!!! I did a sponsored walk as a kid with my school at The Oval and it was when Surrey played Somerset. That was the day I really fell in love with cricket. It was a hot day in 1983 and Somerset had Botham, Richards and Garner. We met the players and I was absolutely petrified of Joel Garner. He was huge, like the Sasquatch out of Six Million Dollar Man!!
Geoff Howarth (New Zealand) was Surrey Captain and he was an absolute diamond. Was such a nice guy and converted me to support New Zealand lol.
Those were the days....

India have chased down 320 in 37 overs against SL. We needed to chase it inside 40 overs to get a bonus point and stay alive in the series. If SL loses to Aus on Friday, we will be through to the finals
Malinga 7.4-0-96-1
Kohli tonked Malinga for 33 runs in the last 9 balls he faced against Malinga
BTW, well done England yesterday, but seriously how the foook did Misbah not hit the last ball out of the park? It was a perfect delivery to smack for the 6 needed.
