looked like it was going to be Englands day for a while but that was a cracking knock from Jayawardene.

Looks like it's a decent batting wicket to be honest.

Should have had them all out today which would have been pretty good going on that wicket

2 drops from Monty didn't help

            woeful effort so far.

Can't see England getting anything from the 1st test now.

Done by spin again, not learning any lessons from the Pakistan tests

                  Vaughan's take on it

BBC Test Match Special's Michael Vaughan

"When Jonathan Trott came into the team in 2009 he brought an energy to the side and a freshen-up could be what is needed now, but the problem is I'm not sure they're that confident about what's waiting in the wings."
BBC Test Match Special's Michael Vaughan

"All this is doing is embarrassing the top order even more, today was a day England should have got 400 absolutely no question.
                  "

                    All out for 193

Giving the bowlers a full 46.4 overs rest

The bowlers have done well there adding a degree of respectability and 100 runs for the last 4 wickets. It's going to be up to them to get Sri Lanka out for a reasonable score. Woeful from the batsmen. Again.

Need to really make inroads into their lineup, good start mind but we need to try and limit them to 250 max 300 (ish) lead when we come back into bat.
