David Haye & Dereck Chisora to fight at Upton Park

David Haye and Dereck Chisora are to face each other at Upton Park on 14 July in a fight sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.
The british heavyweights were involved in a brawl following Chisora's defeat to Vitali Klitschko in Munich.
Neither hold a British licence, Chisora's was withdrawn after a number of controversial incidents before and after the Klitschko fight.
Haye relinquished his licence when he retired in October last year.

dear lord the Luxembourg Boxing Federation

You just knew Haye couldn't keep himself out of the fight game, he's only 31 so plenty more years left to fight if he chooses to.

Haye will be lucky to get his British licence back after this. He will win, because lets face it. Chisora is a chump. But he seems to be sacrificing his career long term.

My best guess is that there will be some sort of split in the codes. Similar to BDO and PDC. With Frank Warren's fighters on one side and the rest on the other. More titles ahead for Boxing Id guess.

              FARCE.

1.a light, humorous play in which the plot depends upon a skillfully exploited situation rather than upon the development of character.
              2.
humor of the type displayed in such works.
              3.
foolish show; mockery; a ridiculous sham.

It's a decent fight really, Chisora is not bad and if he can last till the later rounds Haye will struggle with that lack of stamina. Might have a huge impact on British boxing though and maybe not for the good.

He is nowadays. He wasn't back in 2004 though when he was dead on his feet after 5 rounds against an ancient Carl Thompson though:

He is, he's a pro boxer but he doesn't throw a lot of leather and takes a lot of breathers in fights, certainly compared to other top fighters anyway.

I always put that down to him boxing smart and saving himself. But now that you mention it your not wrong. Thinking back he does it a lot.

It'll be an interesting fight. I'm sure we can expect plenty more fireworks in the buildup as well. At least it'll get the public interested.
