He's not just been banned for the scuffle though has he. It's a combination of things - spitting water in Wladmir's face. Slapping Vitaly. His antics after the win was awarded to Vitaly. The fight in the press conference. The death threats. And now he's trying to flout the British Boxing Board's ruling. I think they're totally entitled to ban him, personally. I'm sure that if he'd played his cards right he could have got his licence back at some point in the future. Looks like he's burned his bridges now though. **** him.K ris90210

I've no love for the board anyway. It took the Watson case for them to take health provisions seriously, and yet they pontificate on some dude acting the cunt around a fight. Alright, sound.
20,000 tickets sold in a day, so people wanted to see the fight. There were better ways the board could have handled it, but everyone was tripping over their own dicks looking for the high ground. It's boxing. There is no high ground. If they were worried about him being a "role model" then they could have let him keep his licence but involved him in board-sanctioned community programmes, working in gyms with youngsters or the like.
Money has always talked in boxing. What did they think Warren was going to do when they banned his man?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/18116803David Haye & Dereck Chisora could be expelled by WBC
The World Boxing Council (WBC) says it will expel any person or organisation involved with the proposed fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora.
The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) has already threatened to remove licences from anyone involved, including manager Frank Warren.
"We will not condone such disgraceful behaviour [from Chisora]," said WBC president Jose Sulaiman.
"This boxer has no idea of what good behaviour is."
Haye and Chisora are due to meet at Upton Park on 14 July, with Warren claiming more than 20,000 tickets were sold within two days of going on sale.
The WBC is one of boxing's most prominent governing bodies and sanctioned the fight between Chisora and WBC title-holder Vitali Klitschko in Munich in February.
The WBC suspended Chisora indefinitely for his behaviour before and after the contest - the 28-year-old was involved in a brawl with fellow Briton Haye at the post-fight news conference, having slapped Klitschko at the weigh-in and spat water at his brother Wladimir before the bout.
If the WBC follows through with its threat it would be a potential blow to Haye's career aspirations, the former heavyweight world champion having set his sights on a match with Vitali.
The BBBofC refuses to sanction the fight because neither Haye or Chisora holds a British boxing licence.
Chisora's was withdrawn after his actions in Munich, although he has appealed against the decision, while Haye opted not to renew his licence having announced his retirement in October 2011.
"Anyone who participates will be deemed to have terminated their membership," a BBBofC statement read last week.
Chisora's manager, Warren, has challenged the Board's stance, insisting there is nothing illegal about the fight being licensed by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation rather than the BBBofC.
Warren says that no BBBofC rules will be broken because the Luxembourg Boxing Federation is an affiliated member of the European Boxing Union and recognised by its British counterparts.
However, the letter from Sulaiman to the BBBofC added: "We will expel Luxembourg from our organisation if the commission went ahead, as well as any person or institution that has relations with them.
"I am sure the European Boxing Union is on the verge of [taking] a strong position against Luxembourg.
"I am also furious with the promoter [Warren is not strictly promoting the fight, German company Sauerland is] who is trying to blast the ethics, honesty and seriousness of the sport of boxing."

Given the magazines current ownership there is a massive conflict on interests. Editorial neutrality? Not since they gutted the editorial team last year. Also witness the current cluster **** that are their rankings. There's what 7 or 8 vacant divisions?Originally posted by Hollowman View PostIt is for traditionalists, it's the linear title in every class.

Aye, didn't realise they'd changed the policy on awarding the title. Symptom of their ownership and the chaotic state of boxing I think. None of the titles really mean anything now as there are so many of them and fighters will relinquish at the drop of a hat for a bigger fight than their mandatory.
This is where promotions like UFC have a real advantage. Although they might not have the depth of fighters, they control one single title, so everyone knows where they stand.
