"I think it is the right time to step aside and let the next generation of players come through to gain experience for the World Cup in 2015," he said.

"I still wish to be considered for selection for England in Test cricket."
Fair play I suppose, still think he's got something to offer though. He's only 31 FFS!

Proably still a little pissed off at the fine he got for his 'outburst'

Wouldnt be surprised to see him retire from Test cricket after the South Africa series too.

The ECB are bellends, they wouldn't let him retire from the one day game without retiring from the T20 format as well. Don't ask KP to call your bluff because he will.

It's been their selection policy for ages. I have to say I think they do things the right way - same rules for everyone. He didn't have to retire now.

but they have a different group of players for each team, so I don't see what difference it makes.

              Tino Best

              That's a knock and a half for a number 11.

****, I've just turned it on now, seems I've missed quite the morning. Would loved to have seen it.

Highest score ever from a number 11 for Best, apparently.

World record score for a number 11 from Best. 95, 14 fours and a six from 112 balls, that's some knock. Deserved the ton.

Well apart from the Tino Best knock this has been one hell of a waste of time and effort. They have pretty much rested all the players now
                              *Except Michael, who died.
