it was. Sometimes you watch him and the shots he pulls off are breathtaking. Its amazing he's that good considering he's from where he is.

Absolutely stunning from Murray. That was an incredibly hard fought win, Ferrer made him work so hard for every point, game and set.

One of the biggest differences with Murray this year is when he is down in a match he just gets on with it. Where as in previous years he would begin to rant at himself which would give his opponents a lift. So it seems Lendl has been an inspired addition as he never gave any emotion away when he played and he seems to have really sorted Murrays head out.

He should but, Ferrer is no mug on grass or HC, as his ranking (5 in the world) would suggest. You only had to watch the ease with which he dispatched Del Potro to witness how good a player he is. That was a really tough match for Murray and he dug deep early on and latterly when he started hitting big he played really well.

Of course, he's an excellent player but he's not elite and has his weaknesses, the top guys should always be dispatching him in the latter stages of slams if they're healthy. Murray losing to him on clay isnt so bad though given it's probably his worst and Ferrer's best surface.

it was a game where Murray of previous years may have faltered. He won a tough encounter in style, personally I think Ferrer is a tougher game than Tsonga (for Murray). But add in the weight of expectation and the semi final is going to be quite a game. Murray doesn't seem all that burdened by the public expectation, which is amazing really.

I was listening to the radio a couple of days back and they were saying that when the roof is on it becomes more like a hard court and this increases Feds chances as he is brilliant indoors

Why would you go to court 1 on semi final day

The roof issue needs sorting. It's an outdoor tournament. No idea what the solution is but making it indoors kinda undermines the whole tournament.
