There is always something worth staying up for, obviously the result is a foregone conclusion but things which happen have a baring on the rest of the series. It'll be interesting seeing just how ****ing ****e Harmisson and Anderson are bowling now and comparing it to how much better they will be in the final test whe we're 4-0 down.

What the game DOES require to win is that you score more runs than the opposition.

So you pick a substandard bowler just for an extra 15-20 runs with the bat? He'll cost you more than that in the field

Ok - I agree with you there mate. Giles is rubbish as a bowler. Buchanan and Ponting must have been over the moon when they saw that Monty wasn't playing.

Regards Collingwood - I rate the lad. Some don't and I don't see why. He's got a good batting average and he's the best fielder in the world. He's also useful with the ball.

Collingwood did manage to get 94 today.

Fair play to him, not sure why he charged Warne though, must've wanted a six to bring up his century.

Pietersen is also going strong.

England know they will lose on Monday - so why not use it as good batting practice against some of the best bowling inthe world.

That will acheive two things:

1. Delay the inevitable.
2. Build some confidence as Adelaide will arrive very quickly!

One last point, England must play Panesar in Adelaide. I'd also play Giles and sacrifice Harmison or Anderson if necessary.
