He's been, slightly grudgingly, my favourite batsman in the world for a long time...love watching him when he gets in. Fookin brutal.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

its been the one saving grace for me

I love watching Warne bowl and Gilchrist bat although Gilly has been a let down until this morning.
"What's your favourite Beatles album then?"

He's a great batsmen but he's been pretty woeful for the last 18 months or so. He was in terrible form at during the last Ashes. Flintoff had his number.

Nice to see him return to form and on his 'home' ground as well.

Aye he's struggled big time and it's been a bit perplexing. Flintoff found him out but he's a joy to watch in this vein. Some people prefer more wristy kinda strokemakers...whereas I love to watch your Pietersens and Gilchrists.

1749: Australia 468-5 Adam Gilchrist speeds to his fastest Test match half-century, coming off just 40 balls. Next two balls he carts Monty way, way into the stand for two destructive sixes. The fifth ball rockets away for four. The final ball goes for a six that seems to never come down. 24 off that over, rarely have I witnessed carnage like it. He's on 73 from 44 balls, chasing down Viv Richards' Test record of 100 off 56 balls in 1986.

Gilly requires 5 runs from 3 balls for the fastest centuary in history. HISTORY!
