Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do

I've been doing some geometry comparisons, and for example the measurements of my Cube 20" lie kind of in-between the Specialized Rockhopper Comp 17.5" and 19.5", so I guess that ties in with what the guy said to me about them coming up short.

I spent hours last night researching sizing etc, I.E. the recommended length of the top tube using your elbow from the saddle to your fingers on the handlebar and all that ****. Everything seems to suggest it is actually an okay size for me. I think it all just feels alien because I haven't sat on a bike for over 10 years!

Think I'm going to keep it in which case my first ride will be Saturday morning.

My boney arse actually hurts just from sitting on it in my front room. Think I'm going to have to get a different saddle
      This is how it starts.

I'm getting excited about the impending delivery of a set of allen keys. I'm getting nerdier by the day.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

You're helping him settle into the North West?

          Well that was fun

Was out for 45 minutes or so going round the cycle network near me. I didn't fall off once

But I did at some point ride through dog ****, which isn't ideal as I'm having to keep the bike in my carpeted front room at the moment until I clear space in my outside cupboard thingy.

Definitely happy with the size now I've ridden it. (Oo-er missus).

Glad to know I crapped in exactly the right place too.

How's the new bike Reece, been out on it since?

I'm debating whever or not to get rid of my car and by a bike when the ride to work scheme kicks off again next year. Not road a bike for years but fairly fit so should be able to do the 18 mile round trip. Los to consider though, think I'd need a hybrid bike, the cube ones 'Look' good but I have no idea if they are. I'd love to get rid of my car.

Hey man, didn't manage to get out during the week but went out after the football to blow off some steam. Rode to my Mum's and had a cup of tea

Planning on getting up early and setting off down the cycle trail here - riding for an hour and then turning back. That's the plan anyway - may revise that if I get tired...

As for the Cubes, obviously I'm not particularly experienced, but it's a lovely bit of kit and they do generally get great reviews if you read around the web. Don't know about hybrids mind.

Neil/other bike people - it seems that my front brake pad is rubbing on the rotor I've tried making sure the wheel is straight but however I position it and tighten it gets the same effect. I have a feeling I may have squeezed the break a little when first assembling the bike - is that bad? Any ideas how to alleviate the rubbing?

What kind of brakes do you have?

                        Hydraulic discs.

Ha funnily enough I'd just found that link and it's suggestions seemed to have done the trick. Cheers.
