I was just saying who I'd have gone for.

Understand his picks. Poulter's record speaks for itself. Colsaerts has been on great form and as you've mentioned the course is very long.

Olazabal could have picked four of five others and still had a good team really.

    Bring it on USA!

It's great that everybody has their own opinion. I wasn't pulling you up on it. I was just passing on the information.

Your other choice Harrington, said it would have been very controversial if he had been picked ahead of Colsaerts

Davis Love has an incredibly difficult choice to make this afternoon. Four wildcards from Hunter Mahan, Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk and Rickie Fowler, Brandt Snedeker, Dustin Johnson and Nick Watney.

I'd go for Dustin Johnson, Mahan, Stricker and Furyk.

I'd pick the exact same 4. I think Love will too actually.

It'll be harsh on Snedeker and to a lesser extent Watney.

Rickie Fowler is woefully out of form at the moment so I don't think he'll be holding out any hope.

Well I think they need Stricker for his experience and to play with Woods, so he's a cert.

Furyk again has massive experience so surely has to be in the team?

Johnson has just come back from an injury so would have been in the team had it not been for that. He's also long so suits the course in that respect.

Mahan and Snedeker is a tough one. Snedeker is bang in form, but he's never played in one before. Mahan has twice.

Watney is another player I like, the Jim Carey lookalike seems a lovely bloke. He won recently too.

Fowler, yeah he seems too out of form. I think he's a long shot.

I do think it's the best US team for a while, there doesn't seem to be too many big egos in it, and they might actually play with some team spirit for once.

I've booked the Thursday and Friday off work for this, can't wait!

                Me neither

I see this morning's press reckon Mahan will miss out. I'll be amazed. A little out of form lately but he's the World Matchplay champion ffs.

Love Mahan, always enjoy watching him play, he's a gutsy ******* too. I think it'd be a mistake for them to leave him out.

The first two are easy picks for DL3, IMO he will go with

Dustin Johnson (dead cert, in form and it is a "bombers" course)

Steve Striker (one of the worlds best putters, historically a great pairing with Woods and in decent form)

                    Then there is....

Jim Furyk (great competitor and has a played in the RC a few times, has great experience and there are few rookies in the US team)

Brandt Snedeker (in form and my gut feeling)

The biggest issue with Fowler, is he pays hot or cold, there is no in between ground. Currenlty he is firmly in the cold cycle

Sticker and Furyk must be nailed on.

I think he might throw one of Snedeker or Watney in and leave out Mahan.

Both have had some decent wins in Matchplay before.

As you say its a very tough call to make and Love must have ideas on who will work in the forsomes and fourballs.

Gutted for Mahan, but those are still four excellent picks.

I get picking Snedeker but leaving out the world matchplay champion is a huge call.
