I don't understand why we opened with Jimmy, clearly this pitch is for spinners Monty is causing all sorts of issues & we're letting them have too many easy runs at the moment

Spinners need to have a break. Plus Anderson is great with the new ball. Just not here. It's looking fairly compelling though to play 3 spinners in the 3rd test. Anderson and Broad have been pretty ineffective.

Ohh I know. Don't think they would have opened with two spinners anyway. But all the fast bowlers seem to be for is giving the spinners a break in the sub continent.

I'd have liked to see us pin them down a bit and put pressure on with a couple of spinners from the start.

It's not the English way though, opening with one spinner must have been a hard decision for us!
