Unbelievable performance from Saracens at Toulon. Hung on a bit at the end but first half they looked like the All Blacks.

Anthony Foley: Munster rugby coach dies suddenly in Paris.

Munster Rugby head coach Anthony Foley has died suddenly in Paris.

An Irish Rugby statement said that Foley, 42, had died overnight at the hotel where the team were staying prior to Sunday's game against Racing 92.

The European Champions Cup game has been postponed following the former Ireland international's death.

"The IRFU and Munster Rugby pass on our deepest sympathy to all of Anthony's family and friends," added the Irish Rugby statement.

"We ask for privacy for the family at this sad time."

Foley earned 62 Ireland caps and captained Munster to their first European Cup triumph in 2006 before joining the Irish province's coaching staff.

The Limerick man was appointed Munster's head coach in 2014 after the departure of Rob Penney.

Bloody hell that is out of the blue. Went to school with him and played on the same school team as him for a spell.

Far too young to have passed on.

You Limerick based so? Was flying to London on Tuesday with work and the 2006 team was doing a reunion so loads on the flight and I was sat beside Marcus Horan. Was at the game in 2006 and we had a good chat about it.

Really shocking re Foley - young family etc, v sad.

Am from Limerick originally, but became a bit of a wandering mongrel for a spell.

Mostly between Limerick and Cork now.

Anthony was from Clare though not Limerick. Will be a fair few glasses getting raised tonight in Killaloe/Ballina in his name.

Thomond Park tonight has loads of scarves, flags and flowers tied onto it's gates and I imagine the numbers will swell as the night goes on.

I know where Killaloe is - I live in Clare.....it was the Munchins bit that made me assume Limerick.

Yeah it was at St Munchin's where Anthony begun to make his name on the Junior and then the senior teams. He played a big part in the Junior team set up that won the Junior cup in 1987 and again in 1989. Was an indication of how strong the pool of talent was in Munster and Ireland that that St Munchin's junior team were unable to replicate their form at senior level.
