    Spot the Welsh man
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

One thing that always puzzled me about rugby, is, when a player kicks up field, (not for touch) why don't players attempt to kick the ball in a way that makes it tumble in the air, and so on landing, considering the shape of the ball, it doesn't half seem to land/bounce favourably most of the time for the bloke having to pick it up in his own half.

Bloody hell, interview just on 5 LIVE Sportsweek, with Stuart Lancaster from last night, i swear he was trying to make Lancaster cry, the questions he was asking, when you put your head on the pillow...will you sleep tonight ?'... 'Now... think about when you walk out of the stadium here later...will you be like....What might have been...will you be able to live with yourself', can you even go home Stuart..will your family want to see you now ?

edit: or words to that effect.

If you do that you can't get any length on it and you don't know where the hell it's going to go yourself - more often than not it would do more harm than good.

I can understand that if your intention is to get the ball from your own kick, but tbh i'm more thinking now and then, as a tactic, if you want the opponent collecting the ball to take longer so your players have time to make ground and maybe get to him before he can kick it back up field ?

I suppose getting the distance kicking that way is impossible though as you say.

                ****house day of sport yesterday

I'm only a half hearted rugby fan but I really enjoyed all the matches yesterday. I'm also part of the silent majority of Irish people who enjoy seeing Ireland lose rugby matches - so much self - aggrandising bollocks ruined... soft hands... second phase possession... putting bodies on the line... Drico and rog... And the constant penalties for the same thing are funny - right, I'm not allowed to put my hands on the ball in a ruck oh **** I just did it again! It'd be like in a football match if 20 times per game players completely forgot themselves and caught the ball when it's passed to them. Granted these basic things are a lot harder when you're being assaulted by mutants but that's the fun I guess.

I've been a casual watcher of rugby for years and am still no closer to fully understanding the rules of the game. So many refereeing decisions just seem arbitary.

No matter how irritating some of the ruggers fraternity are I can't bring myself to be pleased with an Irish loss.

                    ROG is a dickhead though.

agree with this - i 'understand' the game and will watch rugby union international matches such as these (can't watch club rugby union, it's dire) but can't get my head around some things.

the 'scrum' for example just seems the most ****ing pointless 'act' in sport. Everyone gets dead excited about the 'scrum' - but nothing ever ****ing happens or is achieved from it - just seems pointless
