I don't really watch rugby, but my Dad wanted to watch it. It's an awful sport, far too complicated and too many stupid rules. I played rugby for my school team, but we just passed the ball around and scored tries. They've put in too much effort to make new rules to stop the sport being boring and as a result they've made it even more so. It's too technical, if every stoppage and passage of play needs to be explained then it doesn't work for me as a sport. I hate American Football for the same reason. I doubt I'll bother watching rugby again. The only interesting bit was the punch.

Really? Oh dear. I just don't see the point in over-complicating sports. I preferred it when they were all just fat *******s trying to maul each other.

I used to have lots of rugby friends at uni. I got into the Five Nations and world cup a bit. But then lost interest again after we went our different ways.

I played rugby because I wasn't good enough to get into my school football team, we had an outstanding crop of footballers at school. I love playing any sport, but I struggle watching anything that doesn't flow. I had to keep asking my Dad for an explanation of whatever had just happened and I got bored of asking and he got fed up of explaining. We just sat in silence for the last ten minutes. The boxing is much more interesting.

You can punch someone in the face & then again when they're lying helpless on the ground & only get a 8 match ban?

Yet a bite on the shoulder results in being banned for four months from any football-related activity, plus nine international matches?!

I know it's a different situation but still.....

Only an eight match ban because there is not an international outcry with every man and his dog sharing their idea of a moral code.

And because rugby has a greater threshold for tolerating thuggery hence why Nick de Luca got a 13 week ban for a tip tackle.

It's a minimum 8 games and the tribunal is tomorrow.

Surely he's looking at 12 + games for that.

If he'd left it at the first punch they'd have both been in the bin for 10 minutes but that punch when he's out on the floor was disgraceful
